Broken Planet is a live theatrical cabaret experience developed by artists from around the globe. Despite ever evolving digital connection our world seems more divided than ever. Broken Planet is here to reconnect us. To put the humility back into humanity. To provide the space for rediscovering the good in everyone and everything around us.
With acts like Clown God, Mothman, Nerf Karaoke and acrobatics from the Well Balanced Fathers, as well as a live-looped indie-music score that evolves with every performance, Broken Planet gives us permission to misbehave, encourages us to take ourselves less seriously, and reminds us to embrace our imperfections and differences with the power of laughter, dancing, joking... and farts.
And with your help, it is here to Save the World.
Broken Planet was created in a Chicago apartment by veteran Blue Man Group performer Callum Grant in response to the ever-growing division in the world. Starting with a single human in a living room hoping to bring people together with humour, the performance expanded to an abandoned art gallery where more humans got involved and audiences kept coming. As the show outgrew the gallery space and moved into larger established music venues and theatres, more artists joined the Broken Collective in varying and wonderful capacities.
With a universal message that aspires to bridge the gap of tribalism, Broken Planet: The Absurd Cabaret of Apocalyptic Proportions is now entering its second year and the team is excited to be appearing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to share their passion and to inspire empathy through laughter.
