OUR STORY
The things we make have changed. The reason we make them hasn't.
2005
we started
Rhymes with Purple begins as a theatre company making our own work in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and beyond.
THEN
we expanded
Theatre grew into circus, festivals, events and producing for other artists in Scotland and across the world.
NOW
we continue growing
We continue to work with extraordinary artists and organisations while developing our own bold live work.
"You know, I think
we could take this
show to the Fringe!"
Frodo in 2005
HOW WE WORK
artists first
We're a company made up of performers, writers, artists, and musicians so we know what it feels like to make work.
BEING HONEST
We only take on projects we love. If RwP agrees to work on a project, it's because we believe that the work has merit.
MAKING ROOM
We actively work to reduce barriers faced by disabled, LGBTQIA+, international and historically excluded artists..
NEVER BORING
Not everything needs to be genre-shattering or life-changing. But it should have something to say

Fox Mclavin (He/THEY)
production assistant
2 years with the company and we still can't get Fox to give us a biog. We all refuse to write one for him. To be honest, he's probably too busy running around pasting stars onto posters and chasing last-minute requests for props and set items to submit a biog.
Drink Order: something non-alcoholic
misty-jo pett-ruas (she/her)
associate producer
Misty‑Jo is a music graduate, songwriter and performer who splits her time between making music and helping bring creative projects to life.
Alongside her creative work, she loves the organisational and business side of the arts, working across production support, admin and community projects. After joining Rhymes With Purple as an Assistant Producer at last year’s Fringe, she’s thrilled to be returning for 2026 and contributing once again to the magic of the festival.

MAX (GOOD/BOY)
HEAD OF GOOD VIBES
Max is the real backbone of the company. His main role is ensuring that the team take regular walks and that there are always plenty of treats in the office. He finds the Fringe crowds a little overwhelming so, when he's out and about, it will usually be in the Meadows or one of the quieter, dog-friendly bars.
Max was adopted from Dogs Trust.
